How to Search Civil Dockets
Start here. Which level does your dispute sit in: district, county, or justice court? The 121st District Court takes district-level civil, family, and child-protection matters. Yoakum County's constitutional county court handles civil and probate work within its authority. Smaller suits often belong to JP Precincts 1 and 2. Those precincts hear many small claims, debt claims, and evictions within statutory limits.
A district-level civil docket starts with the District Court page. That page posts schedules and selected PDFs; District Clerk Sandra Roblez can confirm what you need. For a county matter, try the County Clerk's Online Public Record Search first, then check the result with County Clerk Summer Lovelace. re:SearchTX pulls together participating statewide data. Justice-court cases are the exception. The county offers no unified justice-court docket portal, so contact those precincts directly.
- Identify the court and case type.
- Use the cause number when known.
- Search spelling variants and a practical date range.
- Match party role, filing date, and court.
- Confirm the current docket with its clerk.
Yoakum County Civil Docket Routes
There is no single Yoakum County civil docket list. Which court is proper depends on several things. The amount in dispute matters, as do the remedy sought and the subject matter. A district family case and a JP debt claim are both civil. Yet their court records sit with different clerks. The county publishes no current universal jurisdiction chart. Confirm any live filing route with the clerk before you file.

What a Civil Docket Shows
The April 29, 2026 non-jury docket is the clearest local sample. It mixes civil and criminal settings on one list, so read each row's case style and hearing type closely. Remember, it is just a calendar slice. It is not the full register of filings.
| Time | The listed start time for the setting. |
|---|---|
| Case | The court's cause number. |
| Style | The short case caption. |
| Type of hearing | Final hearing, temporary orders, summary judgment, or trial conference. |
| Attorney | Counsel information shown in the sample. |
| Notes | Scheduling or interpreter details. |
A docket entry reading “final hearing” only tells you a hearing was set. It does not prove the judge signed a final judgment. The same caution applies to a motion for summary judgment: that entry is a request queued up for consideration, not evidence it was granted.
Yoakum County Civil Docket Calendars
The 121st District Court calendar splits its dates into separate columns. One set covers Terry County, and one covers Yoakum County. Civil jury weeks, non-jury dates, alternate dates, and foster-care settings each get their own markings. Read it carefully. Before any date becomes a useful lead, both the county column and the event type have to line up. One quirk is worth knowing. A civil jury case can land on a backup slot during a criminal jury week. That is just how the calendar allocates courtroom time, and it never changes the case type. Treat the published schedule as a planning tool. The case notice and the current docket still hold the setting a party should actually confirm.
Yoakum County Civil Hearing Dockets
Want to see how a civil setting gets requested? The district Request for Civil Hearing spells it out. The form asks for the request date and the requested hearing date. It also wants the cause number, county, and case style. It collects the hearing type, whether the matter is agreed or contested, the estimated length, any interpreter need, and who is submitting the form. Opposing counsel's approval of the requested date gets its own question. Be aware of one limit. The form's own language requires the requesting party to serve notice of the proceeding, citing Texas Rule of Civil Procedure 21(b). Still, a filed request does not lock in a date. Only a later court notice or docket entry does that. If a deadline or courtroom stays unclear, call the coordinator or the clerk.
A requested date is not a court order. Confirm the approved setting and preserve the notice actually issued in the case.
Types of Civil Cases on the Docket
Yoakum County civil dockets cover a wide mix. Contract and tort disputes appear, along with property litigation, probate proceedings, family matters where public, and justice-court claims. The category matters in two ways. It decides which court handles the case and how much detail the public can see. Child-protection and juvenile-related matters carry stronger confidentiality rules than an ordinary commercial claim ever would.
- District civil and family cases
- County-court civil or probate matters
- Justice-court small claims and debt cases
- Eviction proceedings in the correct precinct
- Property lawsuits distinct from recorded instruments
A petition only makes claims; it decides nothing. Before you call a case won or lost, read the later docket entries for orders, dismissal, trial, judgment, post-judgment action, or appeal.
Yoakum County Civil Dockets Versus Deeds
A deed, lien, plat, assumed name, or foreclosure notice can be tied to a dispute. Even so, it may not be part of the lawsuit docket. Recording records at the clerk's office serve a different function than a civil case file. The Tyler public index may point you toward county records. But its own disclaimer says the index is a guide, not the underlying document.
The 2024 County Clerk fee schedule sets charges for recorded documents and copies. That includes $1 per page for a plain copy. Those numbers don't guarantee the current charge for every civil case image. So ask yourself one question first: is this a recorded instrument or a court file? Then verify the current copy and certification cost before you pay.
Note: A property search and a civil docket search are not the same task. Each may need separate cause numbers, descriptions, and clerk requests.
Yoakum County Civil Docket Copies
Yoakum County offers two copy types for civil docket records. A plain copy is just a reproduction, with no clerk certification attached. A certified copy carries the clerk's authentication, which courts and agencies often require. The County Clerk's 2024 schedule prices plain copies at $1 per page. Certified copies run $5 plus $1 per page. Treat that schedule as a guide, though. It is not a universal price list for every district civil record.
When you request copies from the clerk, name the court, the cause number, the document, and the copy type. Ask the clerk to quote the current cost. Ask how delivery works too. Note the published terms: no personal checks and no refunds. For mailed documents, the schedule recommends a prepaid return envelope.
Settings and Hearings on Civil Dockets
The 121st District Court runs on a shared schedule. It separates several kinds of settings. Non-jury days, civil jury weeks, alternate dates, foster-care settings, and backup placements each get their own slot. A civil jury week is only a calendar allocation. It does not promise that every case will go to trial. The court may use alternate dates for contested or overflow matters at its discretion.
- Temporary orders
- Interim rulings that apply before a final resolution.
- Motion for summary judgment
- A request for judgment on the record without a conventional fact trial.
- Default hearing
- A setting where a failure to answer or appear may be addressed under law.
- Trial conference
- A setting about readiness, logistics, settlement, or trial issues.
Always verify a date with the clerk or coordinator before relying on it. A docket PDF can shift after a reset, a continuance, a later order, or an updated notice.
Service on Yoakum County Civil Dockets
In Yoakum County, the local hearing-request form puts notice service on the requesting party. A docket date alone proves nothing about proper notice. It does not show whether every required person got it. A return of service can change what happens next in the case. So can a waiver, an answer, or a court order.
Texas Court Help urges anyone served with a suit to act promptly. It also says to get legal help when needed. No general webpage can calculate a live answer date. Read the citation. Check the filed return or waiver. Then contact the clerk or a lawyer about the actual case.
Public Access to Civil Dockets
Texas Rule of Civil Procedure 76a begins with a presumption that court records are open. Access still has limits. Exhibits, medical material, trade secrets, account data, and minors' information can be redacted or sealed. An index entry does not establish that each attachment is available online.
Ask for the public or redacted portion of a civil file. Do not try to reconstruct content that a court has sealed.
Texas law treats case records differently from other judicial records and government files. Rule 12 covers judicial records other than case records. The Texas Public Information Act may govern some county administrative records instead. Send any case request to the clerk who holds the file, and identify the cause number, the court, the date range, and the copy type you want.
Yoakum County Civil Docket Appeals
A signed civil judgment can trigger post-judgment motions or an appeal. An eligible appeal moves to the Seventh Court of Appeals. That court keeps its own docket for briefing, motions, opinions, and the mandate. It is not a duplicate of every trial-court entry in the Yoakum County file.
Keep the Yoakum County cause number and the appellate number together. Pull the judgment and notice of appeal from the trial clerk's file first. Then use the appellate docket to follow later events. An opinion or mandate can change how the trial judgment should be described.
Verify Yoakum County Civil Docket Judgments
Build your timeline from the docket, then obtain the controlling order or judgment itself. Check whether it was signed and whether later motions changed it. A notice of appeal moves part of the case to the Seventh Court of Appeals. That court keeps a separate appellate docket that may end with an opinion or mandate.
An empty online search is not the last word. Try alternate spellings and confirm the court. Older paper files, delayed indexing, restricted access, and portal outages can all cause a false negative. The District Clerk sits at P.O. Box 899, Plains, Texas 79355, reachable at 806-456-7491 extension 297. The County Clerk uses P.O. Box 309 and extension 294. Before sending a request, confirm the mail, email, fax, counter, public-terminal, and delivery options, since no universal procedure applies.
The Yoakum County case search explains how to match a result. Use the cause number and party role. Preserve the search date and source you used.
